TabiJP

Last Updated: September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Expentrac ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use TabiJP (the "App"). By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 No Account

The App has no sign-in. It never asks for your name, email address, password, or phone number. To count how many devices use the App, it sends a device identifier provided by the operating system (identifierForVendor on iOS, Android ID on Android) with its requests to our server. This identifier is not linked to your real-world identity.

1.2 Learning Data (On Your Device Only)

  • Lessons you have completed and the last lesson you read
  • Settings such as interface language, theme, text size, and furigana and romaji display

This data is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to us.

1.3 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version, language, and device or advertising identifiers
  • Usage Data: App opened, lessons opened or completed, quizzes started, ads shown or tapped, audio that failed to play, crash reports, and performance metrics
  • Log Data: IP address and access times

1.4 Feedback

If you send feedback from the Settings tab, we receive your message, the category you chose, and the app version, platform, and language. Sending feedback is optional.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide the App: Remember your progress and settings on your device
  • Improve the App: Understand, in aggregate, which lessons and quizzes are used
  • Stability and Performance: Find and fix crashes, bugs, and missing audio
  • Support: Read and respond to feedback
  • Advertising: Display ads and apply ad-free periods earned from rewarded ads

3. Data Storage and Security

Your learning progress is stored only on your device. Usage data and feedback are stored on secure cloud servers operated by trusted providers, and all network requests use HTTPS/TLS encryption. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information. Usage data is kept for up to 12 months and afterwards only as aggregate statistics.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Firebase Services

  • Firebase Analytics: Anonymous usage statistics collected automatically
  • Firebase Crashlytics: Crash reports and diagnostic data
  • Firebase Performance: Performance metrics

4.2 Advertising Services

The App displays ads through Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, and rewarded formats). AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers, IP address and approximate location, and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads, which may include personalized ads. You can limit ad tracking in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).

4.3 Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We share it only with the service providers above, when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of Expentrac, our users, or the public.

5. Your Choices

  • Delete learning data: Use Reset progress in the Settings tab, or delete the App
  • Delete other data: Contact us at [email protected] to request deletion of usage data or feedback linked to your device
  • Personalized ads: Opt out through your device settings as described in Section 4.2

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. International Users (GDPR and CCPA)

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your local authority. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know and delete your personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
